Not for every route. Each experience has a different effort level, but high altitude can make a straightforward trail feel much harder. Higher routes are better after some acclimatization.

Mountain weather changes quickly. Start time, route or departure can be adjusted when conditions affect safety, visibility or access.
Are all Unmapped Ecuador hikes private?
Yes. Every booking is private. Your guide is dedicated only to you and your companions, so the pace, stops and timing can adapt to your group.
What should I bring?
It depends on the route, but layers, waterproof protection, sun protection, water and suitable footwear are a strong baseline. Multi-day experiences require more equipment.
